borders heaven
so, i spent today in the city, and i came to the revelation that if heaven is as susie describes it in the lovely bones, then my heaven would be a borders bookstore. seriously. wall to wall bookcases filled with the most wonderous and interesting books to read, racks of glossy magazines for those lighter moments, shelves upon shelves of cds of every genre you could want. perfection in four walls. that would be my heaven. i want to drown in words & lyrics & pictures & beauty & imagination, and i found my peace today whilst sitting on one of the leather couches, surrounded by everything i love. i think i could live in borders. now that would be the life. if only real life could be so simple.

what would your heaven be made of?

Music, and love. I can't really imagine heavens, but I know that music makes me feel alive, and who would want to be without love?

I'm not sure I believe in heaven...

but friends, any time spent with them. traveling,
hanging out or otherwise. It's not the destination
that matters, but who you go with.

simple, dim. sound of waterfalls. sky of stars. void. nothng to look forward to, no bad feelings. nothing.

I love Lovely Bones..

Hmm. My heaven would be this huge Starbucks filled with all my friends and all we did was drink coffee and eat the pastries (no worrying about getting fat, of course) and listen to good classic and jazz music and read and talked. It would be snowing outside and we'd all be so happy and cozy inside. BUT if I got tired of that sometimes I could go outside and instantly it would be hot and sunny and I was by the ocean.
I would really like it if heaven were like that.

always feeling alive, with tons of music & books & conversation. and lots of other good things, too. it's hard to pin point it exactly.

i know i'm replying to an old post-- really, i regret not replying when you first wrote it, but i have been so confused lately...

i just want you to know i was in borders the other day & i browsed through all the floors & i sat in a leather chair & read a book & just drifted away into book-land. & guess what? i thought of you.
