Cricket Survival
Is it worrisome that I am taking more things to entertain myself with at the cricket tomorrow, than I take on 20-hour flights to London?

a stargirl survival kit for a day at the cricket
x. Jan/Feb issue of Harpers Bazaar
x. Nov issue of Vogue USA not yet read
x. Dec issue of Vanity Fair not yet read
x. Wicked: The Life & Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
x. The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
x. Doris Anthology zine/book
x. a bunch of other, smaller zines
x. Hello Kitty & Diddl writing paper
x. pencil case of coloured pens
x. embodiment journal & zine notebook
x. Sunscreen, mosquito repellant, aeroguard, sun protective lipbalm
x. Sarong (my mum's idea, she sent me a bright pink one too :))
x. mobile phone - if anyone would like to text me (and save me from boredom or something, +61 408807362, I would love you forever!)

And at lunchtime today I need to get a baseball cap because I don't have a decent hat for the summer, and also some cooling spray. Tonight we are going to pick up bottled water, fruit and snacks to take too.

We are leaving at 8:30am tomorrow. The game doesn't start until about 2pm, I think (actually, I have no idea, but the gates open at 11am, I have no idea why we are leaving so early).

I'm not taking my ipod with me because I think that would be too rude, since we are sitting with a bunch of other people. If you would like a little letter from me tomorrow, feel free to send me your address {jade @ faerywinged.org} in the next few hours. I'm a bit worried because it is going to be so damn hot tomorrow (39*C, 97*F about), it's a long day. I am doing my best to make it as bearable as possible though.

The Australia v Sri Lanka match?
Perhaps you can take me too!
I was planning on going, so perhaps I'll see you there, and you can add me to the list of your entertainments.

You really don't need to go that early. It's quite silly. The game starts at 1:45, and at Adelaide there sure as hell aren't enough people showing up to warrant getting in any early than 1:30.

Re: ---
Trouble is, I love the cricket. If I'm going (and I hope I am) I'll actually be watching, thus, I doubt I'll be such a consolation to your death.

Re: ---
blah, I'm sorry you weren't able to get a ticket (re: txt) :( I'd give you mine if I could, but tomorrow is a big family event. If I hear of any spares (any one who pulls out etc) I'll let you know though.

Oh goodness, cricket. BIG HUGS for you Jadey. Just get the old towelling hat out, some zinc on the old snozz and some fosters in the old chilly bin. She'll be right.

Re : leaving early ....
Do you have reserved seating?? If you do [and it has your seat listed on the ticket] you can get there whenever and your seat will still be there.

If you are going as just general admission ... you need to get there as soon as the gates open or you won't get a decent place to sit!!!!!!!!! The game is sold out and more than half of the tickets is for people to sit in the general admission part where basically they just hope you will stand around as there is not enough grass for everyone to sit.

PS - And be ready to be bored/hot etc by the time the game does start!! The worst part is sitting there before everything happens

PS - I can't believe I'm saying this but is Borders open tomorrow?? If you get bored say you are going to the toilet or to line up for a drink ... take your ticket stub thing and walk into the city!! If they ask why you were so long just say you had to wait in line for ages and then they didn't have what you wanted so you had to go to another drinks place ... and then you had to go to the ladies ... but the line was so long etc etc =)

Awwww. :( Personally I used to go to the cricket to perv on Brett Lee, which is always fun, but now as you know I am more into AFL so I don't go anymore. And I certainly wouldn't go if it was 39*C!

Poor thing. :( Just have a snooze under your baseball cap if it becomes unbearable. I shall text you. Love you! xxxx

thankyou SO much for your text darling - I'm sorry I didn't reply, I was so delirious from the heat when I received it :\ I love you!

I love/d (still not read all of it) the Doris anthology, it's really great. From the UK, would the text number be 0061 408..? Hope you have an excellent day, Jade xx

I am really enjoying the Doris book, I can see why everyone talks it up so much now :)
