happy new year

It's 2002; apart from the new Sketchers I'm wearing [brought from work; I've craved a pair of them since I was 15, and such are the benefits of working in a store that sells clothing + shoes you've always wanted to wear but never could afford], nothing is really all that different. Last night I went to a party at Naomi's place, and it wasn't bad. I don't think I was in the greatest party mood - all I really wanted to do was go home and sleep. Thank goodness the new year symbolises some sort of normalacy at work again + lack of craziness. Yet it's kind of sad when the best thing about a new year dawning is that yr work life becomes sane again.

I saw a friend I used to go to primary school with, back in 1992 at Naomi's party; we've kept in some sort of sporadic contact over the year, but last night was the first time we'd seen each other in nearly 3 year. It's wonderful that even admist change and growing up, you can still keep some of your childhood friends. And I think that was one of the best parts of my new years eve.
