scarlet's walk

I started ballet classes tonight, and even though it IS slightly advanced, and the other girls in the class have probably been dancing since they were 7 years old, I really enjoyed it, and was actually able to keep up okay. Sure, my technique wasn't the greatest, but considering it's been over 10 years since I've taken an actual ballet lesson, I did okay. The teacher says I can stay in that class too, which is good! I can't go for the next 4 weeks because of the Fringe, but after that, I will so be at every class.

I'm really excited about this. I was worried about joining the advanced class, but it's going to be okay - I'm going to have to work hard to get up to the same level as the other girls, but it's good. All the stuff I hated doing as a kid, I loved doing tonight. AND I got to join in the pointe section (Re, be jealous now!) too. In the 4 weeks that I won't be there, I'm going to buy all my dance shoes, and go over all the barre work and centre work (my pirouettes need some real work, lol!) so that when I get back, I'll be all up to speed.
