My mom kissed the Blarney Stone when she was 13 and spent the whole summer there. Lucky!

I have a question!

Why do you have to bend so far upside down to kiss it? Haha. :)

i'm not sure, really! but the actual stone is inbuilt into the castle, down that far. it's not really that big, from what i can remember.
i'm not sure why it's down so low though :X

AHHHH! I went to Blarney castle. When I was up at the top I had a panic attack. It was so high! I couldn't imagine kissing the stone.

That's awesome! I have a question too, haha. Was it kind of gross around the part that you kissed, or do they clean it sometimes (though I'd imagine cleaning it would take away some of the magic, heh). I read a story by Lorrie Moore once that talked about people going to kiss the Blarney stone and finding gum and such underneath it. :P~

actually, we were hearing all sorts of stories about people sneaking in after hours and pissing on the stone. so, um yeah. i contemplated not kissing it, but when yr done there, upside down, it's so quick you don't really think about it ^^
miss fae to you.soakedinstars on November 7th, 2004 07:57 pm (UTC)
yeah, i can imagine what locals must do to the stone that the majority of foreigners will kiss! but, that wouldn't stop me either. :p
