learning such wonderful things
i am just about the happiest person in the world right now. hang on, i think i said that last week as well. well it's pretty easy to make me happy these days, really.
i found out through a co-worker about these short courses that are available - from everything from different sports, health issues, metal work, computers and photography, crafts... candlemaking, soap making, jewellry, bookbinding... sound familiar?
half day sessions, for about $ 30-40 each. i'm so excited. trying to pick out the ones i want to do; if i could, i'd study everything.
there are courses that run for a few weeks, things like cooking, business planning, languages, home renovation. so many amazingly interesting things, and nothing with a huge commitment; introductory courses to give you a taste of what there is. the thought of long term study commitments is enough to send most people running or "i'll think about it"; i don't like having lots of time booked in advance. this is so seemingly perfect and it appeals to my curiosity of so many things.

sigh. i am a happy happy girl. even at work right now.
oh ! there's even a course for women on travelling alone.
wow. there are courses & information sessions on everything ! you don't know how excited i am. i am a LEARNING GEEK... hahaha. i'm not ashamed of it at all.

good thing i told john i'd do his filing this afternoon in exchange for him handling all the phone calls. i'd be useless doing anything else right now... i'm off to dreaming about creative projects and things to learn about and experiment with. i'm so distracted right now... thank goodness it's nearly the end of the week.

*goes back to looking at course catalogue...*

That is so cool that you can take those classes to learn all the different things to make. I believe we have some in craft stores here. I hope you are able to take some and have fun with it! =)

oh what cool classes! after i got started on my philosophy i've been busy flipping through catalogues with study circles and all. there are so many interesting ones; i found one on scrapbooking, one for young knitters&crafters, it was all so cool. but i'm kinda scared to book up all my time so i'll just take some summer ones instead. i'm a chicken.

just looking at the courses makes me inspired. :D

i am SO like that too. a learning geek, i mean. i used to take all kinds of classes at the ymca and the local community college. i love to read those 'cooking for dummies' or 'idiot's guide to gardening' books because they are all basic and teach you things. i tend to buy beginners guides to everything at thrift stores. once i get back from europe, i must look into taking a class on something.
