x. i'm sorry if i seem anti-social this week. work is busy, i'm being torn into 2. stress stress stress. making sure everything is done as much as it can be before i go on holidays at the end of this week; i want to be supergirl and i want to do it all, but i can't. i'm trying my hardest though.

x. i am thinking of things to write for this meet & greet with tori amos competition (apparently the closing date for my city is may 10, so i'm not too late after all - thanks snowcanwait!) i think i am going to write about cooling; it's probably my veryvery favourite song, although i love so many of them. i'm still not sure yet (what tori song would you write about, for those of you who are fans?)

x. this is a great art journal site. it makes me want to get out mine again (if only i wasn't so tired). i've finished updating my tori scrapbook though, so it's all ready to come with me and have all the adventures of the tour recorded in it starting from THIS WEEKEND.

x. reading piece by piece (tori's book), and oh, it's so wonderful. it's much better than i expected it to be; i can hear her voice like she's speaking to her audiences. it's so interesting and so much about spirituality and how her songs are formed and it is just wonderful. i'm so glad i decided (with all of your help!) to start reading it before i went away. ♥

x. i am finishing sending out zine orders & distro orders this week; any orders received after friday won't get sent out until after may 17 as i'll be away til then (well, technically i'm back on may 14, but the next day, snowcanwait is coming to stay with me! :)). emails will be slow (probably non-existant, eep!) during then too, so um, don't be offended by my "bad business sense" lol ;) i'm trying to be conscious of staying on top of things at least with my zines. heh.

i'm really, really excited to go away. not just for tori, but for everything. time with my aussie girls (i've actually met more penpals & lj friends from overseas than i have in my own country!), big cities, flights (so exciting :D). i can't wait to have a break from things for a week as well, and just be with some great people and (hopefully!) not stress about anything.

ps: i have decided once and for all i am booking a ticket to go back to england (for a year or so?), in the first week of october.*nods* i'm looking into possibly transferring my job over to the UK (as we have several branches in the UK - all over Europe, actually, which would be handy if i spoke any of the languages). even just to start with -- working as a temp until i found something else. to go over with a job already lined up would be so perfect really. anyway, it is decided. although i still need to work out whether i'm going to get a round-the-world ticket or a one way (in case i'm gone for more than a year). hmmm.

I have said this before but I'll say it again: you are so brave for going so far away from home all by yourself!!! I'd lovelovelove to move to either Sweden, England or Ireland but I just don't have the guts to do it. I feel like I'm going to regret it for the rest of my life but I'm just so scared of doing anything that drastic :(. It's so frightening because my native language isn't spoken anywhere else in the world and thus I'd have to use a foreign language to communicate with people. And speaking a foreign language is scary because I'll never be perfect at it and I'm a perfectionist :(. But you are my idol!!! You are so couragious!!!

oh gosh; going somewhere where you have to speak another language (in your case, English), would be soo scary... I think it's amazing how well you CAN speak & write it, and that's one thing I really respect about Europeans in general, how well they adapt to the English language which has sort of been forced upon them. One day you too will feel brave enough to go -- I honestly never thought I would be able to do it, but suddenly, I know I'm ready. and I never thought I would be. the same thing will happen for you; believe in yourself.

I feel good when you say that you just know it when you're ready. I hope I'll be there some day, too.

*hugs back*

I have yet to travel out of my country, as I stated before. You are giving me the want to go now more than ever. Two countries I would LOVE LOVE to visit: Indonesia and Australia.
For the culture and the reptiles! lol

I wrote about Baker Baker. That line "make me whole again" really summed up how I felt - well, how I still feel - after A. fucked me over with the harassment etc.

Hi sweetie

I'm just chatting with Fi and she mentioned that if you wanted to stay at her house, there is room for you there. Not sure if you have booked anything at all, but it might be a chance to save a bit of $$. :)

Love you!
    scarlet's walkkisstheviolets on May 4th, 2005 10:44 pm (UTC)
ooh, i haven't booked anything yet -- it's #1 on my things i still have to do actually, lol. as long as she doesn't mind though?? i mean, we hardly know each other, so i completely understand staying in a hostel or something in melbourne -- but if she really doesn't mind, i would love to stay at her place.

please give her a HUGE thankyou from me - even if she changes her mind about the offer, i am still so touched by her kindness.

i am so damn jealous of you!!

she's started to announce dates for the next US branch of the tour, i can't wait for more dates to come up!!
    scarlet's walkkisstheviolets on May 4th, 2005 10:45 pm (UTC)
ooh how wonderful!! i'm so excited about her band tour -- i've been listening to some cds from her scarlets walk tour, with the band, and they are amazing. i am sure she won't bring the band out for an Australian tour, but i'll be so excited just to hear more bootlegs from the US tour. are you going to go to one of the shows?
jessicasea__secret on May 5th, 2005 03:34 pm (UTC)
the website actually now says she will be solo for the next U.S. leg! i am more excited to see her solo, simply because i've only ever seen her with the band, and i think she stands alone perfectly without any band at all--possibly even better than when she plays with others.

honestly, i haven't been a huge fan of the band. i've always sort of thought matt's drumming was boring, but i'm listening more closely now that i've read the book. the book gave me a new appreciation for the band, why she plays with them, and what they do add to her music.
jessicasea__secret on May 5th, 2005 03:35 pm (UTC)
& oh yeah--i hope to be going to one of hte shows! she has only announced 2 so far. she nearly always comes to Arizona (did you get to the chapter in the book yet where she is in Phoenix with the medicine women?)... and since that tour starts in August, I should definitely be around here from August on. I'd love to see her in a couple of places, New Mexico, Arizona, Los Angeles... *sigh*
