RSS help
Okay, I've been researching but I'm still as confused as anything.

What the heck is RSS? I mean, really. In, simple, easy to understand terms. Because I am comfused. Are the readers a program you download and it pops up with new headlines/blog feeds? Or does it download into your inbox or is it a webpage (like reading a LJ friends page with all the updates on it), or...

Sorry it this sounds unbelievably dumb. I've seen it on sooo many blogs and never thought to ask until now.

(oh, and if you can, recommend an RSS reader too? There seems to be way too many out there :-\)

RSS is a way to "subscribe" to news sites, blogs, and other frequently-uploaded pages on the web. That way, all you have to do is go to one page and you can see a list of all the new items from your favorite pages. :)

If you are registered with Yahoo! or MSN, they usually have RSS readers with their "My Yahoo" or "My MSN" features. But my favorite RSS reader by far? Bloglines. It lets you sort your favorite "feeds" into folders, and clip things for viewing later. I can't get my day started without it.
