teaching computer lessons
Dad & Simon want me to start teaching Basic Computer Skills and Basic Internet Skills lessons on Monday, to people who just want to learn... well, the basics.

Any ideas on what I should teach? Where I could get resources from?
I really have no idea where to begin.

Not sure where you can get resources from hon, but maybe teach them about search engines, and checking email etc.

We had to do basic internet skills and high school and that's what they taught us! Hehe. They're like "say for instance you want to look up 'cats'.. don't just type 'cats' into the address box, type www.google.com into the address box and type 'cats' in THERE"

Have a look on some uni websites maybe for lecture or tutorial notes? I'm not sure if I would have access as I'm not in the IT Faculty at UQ, but I could have a look for you if you'd like. :)

That's okay sweetie - I did a Google Search, and files from just about every American college (okay, maybe not lol) came up! Very useful. Thankyou anyway - and thanks for the suggestion!

I slept through or played cards during any introductary computer classes they made me take at one job. So..um..hm..maybe start with the power button, then go from there.
