I feel so sad that Belinda Emmett died this morning, after her long battle with cancer. Mainly I feel sad for Rove and her family, the ones left behind. No matter how successful Rove is in his professional life, I don't believe anything can ever fill that hole when someone so close to you dies.

Life can be so, so cruel.

yes i said the same thing to daniel when we were in the car & i heard it on the news, but i don't think he understood. boys seem to be different in this way, i don't think he understands how you can feel the loss of someone you don't know. he said, "yeah i was sad for one minute, but i've got other things on my mind now". i'm sad for her family and for rove. i'm not a fan of rove or his show and i didn't really know much about belinda emmett but it's irrelevant. just one more example of how life is unfair.

it also makes me more than a little terrified of cancer - if the young, wealthy & beautiful aren't protected from it, what hope is there for the rest of us?

Their bridal waltz was Ben Fold's "The Luckiest" - I'm crying listening to it.

I agree. Success can't help with loss.

I really missed my grandmother today.
