Best & Fairest 2007
Ben won his team's Best & Fairest award for 2007 last night, for the second year in a row. This is such a big honour for him, and we are so proud of him, not only because he's a great football player but because he's also a damn good team player as well. It's a big deal that this has been recognised (again!), and I am just so happy for him.

So proud of him :)

He's so BIG! And looks so much like his Dad. :)

well, he's tall, but he's as thin as a rake, but lots of muscle - for a 13 year old (well, nearly 14). He totally towers over me, hehe. And yes, the resemblence is uncanny! :)

OMG, he is looking so grown up! He looks a lot older than he did in pictures you posted a little over a year ago :)

Congrats to Ben!

Hi Jade :)

I was just wondering if I could ask you a couple of questions about those BPAL perfume oils that I know you're really into at the moment?! I'm trying to get a tiny bit of Christmas shopping done and I'd really like to get some for my friend Ang, who is the goth lady who runs Starling Vendetta with my friend Flick. They seem to have massive waiting times for deliveries though and seeing as I'm in the UK aaaand that all the postmen are striking, I figured I'd better order sooner rather than later.

However, I worked out that ordering just one bottle with postage will cost £15 and that's kind of how much I wanted to spend in total, only I wanted to get her two or three different scents. I saw their sample sizes but I'd prefer to get her something in the proper bottles because they look nicer. So I was wondering;

a) is there anywhere they are available cheaper? like lj communities or message boards? *trustworthy* ones.
b) when you order from the bpal website, do the perfumes come with any literature or cards or anything that i would be able to pop in the present and wrap up? ang hasn't heard of bpal before so i'd like to put something in there that explains the company a bit more.
c) any scent recommendations for a quite serious tomboyish goth who likes walking & hiking, cello music and all things dark & black?! there are so many to choose from i wouldn't know where to start!

The BPAL forums are really excellent for buying bottles & such for cheaper (and quicker shipping!) and also this lj community. You can check people's feedbacks on both sites so you can see who is trustworthy (most are perfectly fine to buy from) - I have brought LOADS of things from both sites, and only had 1 problem, which I am not sure was entirely the sellers fault.

When I gave my friends some bpal, I made up my own little literature cards, as the orders don't come with any - but you usually get free samples and sometimes postcards from the lab with the orders. If you like, I can send you over the info that I put into my friends cards, if that helps at all?

Scent recommendations for your friend! - I would probably try something from Rappaccini's Garden or Diabolus; otherwise, the bottle art on the Carnaval Diabolique are absolutely gorgeous (much nicer than the general catalogue ones!), so I would recommend something from either of those categories, to narrow it down a little bit :)
