"Madness" - Marya Hornbacher
"How do we know who we are or what we can become? We tell ourselves stories. The stories we tell are what we know of ourselves. We are a creation, a product of our own minds, a pastiche of memory, fear, desire... All I have is today, this moment to work with. I am writing my story as I go. I am inventing myself one moment, one experience, at a time.

And that's alright. It means I can choose who I become. It means I can write my future. I can create a person, write a story, full of hope."

Madness - Marya Hornbacher

Although I am Bipolar, Type II, I must say that was an excellent book. I relate to it, as I do Wasted, and thank you for posting the quote. :)

I just finished reading it yesterday, I love Marya's style of writing, her honesty and no-holding-back way of talking about her life.
You are brave, just like she is. xx

Bless your heart. That is the sweetest thing said to me in a long, long time. <3

Her vivacity is what gets me, along with the incredible honesty. That book took me on a trip. (Though "Wasted" tops it for me, but we know why even though I suffer from Bipolar. I could relate to her but I am not type I, which is no less suffering but if you research, just different and actually has a higher suicide rate.

Being said, I'd be honored if you'd interview me for my site. If you don't want to, that's fine as well. You're just someone special I thought of, that came to mind.

I will :) I will think of some questions & email you in the next couple of days ♥ I can't wait to see your site. I'm so glad you are working on creative projects at the moment.

I would be absolutely honored to have you interview me questions. They can be serious, silly, or a mixture of both. I really want my site to be representative of myself and this is one way I can do that aside from my "music." (I need vocal training bad. Thankfully someone I know is highly trained in that.) And if you don't mind, send me positive vibes on the Madonna ticket-buying Saturday. (Though we may have to eBay it. I am fucking going, dammit! :D Hell or high water.

And now, time to go to bed. I hope you have a good day.

Madness: A Bipolar Life. It came out in March or April, I think, so very recent. It's really good :)

And I wish I felt like a creation of my own mind and my own stories but I feel more like a creation of other people's minds and their stories and the roles they have cast me in. Having no sense of self is a problematic thing :/
    scarlet's walkkisstheviolets on May 29th, 2008 01:02 am (UTC)
i understand; sometimes though, i think that other people's stories become a part of you, and you form your identity/sense of self through their eyes, as well as through your own. if that makes any sense :-\

that does make sense so it's probably true for everyone...
