wedding links...
Please recommend your favourite wedding sites [ideas, inspiration, indie-style, anything really]; I need to start thinking about ideas.

Thankyou :]

I didn't think you were having an actual wedding??

I didn't actually plan my wedding. But I like this website:

we're going to have a small, small, small one - something that will appease my mother, haha. Also, my sister has her heart set on being a bridesmaid, so... ><

I will have a look at that site, thanks hon :)

Maggie Sottero has the most beautiful dresses! I also love some by Jean Fox - she has the most beautiful raw silk gowns with a ribbon around the waist. I was totally into those when I was wedding dress shopping. Hmm what else?? *thinks*
We had plans to pinch the wedding vows from the wedding scenes in Tim Burton's Corpse Bride "
With this hand,
I will lift your sorrows.
Your cup will never empty,
For I will be your wine.
With this candle,
I will light your way in darkness.
With this ring,
I ask you to be mine.

Song wise -
Mint Car by The Cure was up there. Mazzy Star's "Fade Into You" also. Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps. And Afternoon Delight by the Starlight Vocal Band, because we thought it would be funny ;)

I liked the idea of these for bonboniere, if you want bonboniere.

I had sooo much stuff saved on my old laptop, but I wiped it all when I got a new one as I gave it to my sis! I'll let you know if anything else pops back into my head!

I don't really know any sites or anything, but nice ideas I've seen from other weddings/heard about:

- instead of normal floral centrepieces, glass bowls filled with glass/coloured pebbles, floating flowers (like blossoms) and floating candles (really nice for a summer/beach/evening wedding in particular).
- having all the flowers one colour but getting as many different shapes/species of flower as possible.
- When my uni friends got married, karina was super-organised (it was a small wedding too) and she wrote her thank you cards BEFORE the wedding (esp as their wedding list was online so their presents came before the big day) thanking everyone individually for their gift and letting everyone know what they meant to them (and if they hadn't given a gift, making a special thank you for being part of the day). The cards were all on a table with a bowl of little vials of perfume (maybe your beloved imps??) for the women to remind them of the day and also the wedding guestbook for people to leave their own messages. Putting them all together ensured everyone signed the book AND got their card!
- Giving guests a packet of seeds so they could go and plant something in honour of the wedding (so the marriage & friendship will grow like the plant...)
- Having a tiny civil wedding one day and then an outdoor/nontraditional blessing/vows service the next.

Somewhere I have a craft magazine with an article about diy weddings... I'll see if I can find it for you :) You should honeymoon in the UK! x

Oh also there is a new alternative wedding magazine out in the UK called Black Meringue. They have a website here that you might find useful x

I planned most of my wedding with the help from the Vogue girls - so if you haven't already, go check out the forum pages on Vogue. Also there is a forum on I-Do, and The Knot is American but useful, Martha is amazing of course and... what else? There is a forum called the Frugal Bride (I think that is what it is??) which might be interesting to you. Sorry, no links today.

Meanwhile, I have a massive, and I mean MASSIVE bundle of magazines that will be sent to you this week, by the way.

If you have any wedding questions, please ask. I lived weddings for a whole year, I feel like the expert!!

From experience, go with what you love, don't let ANYONE else pressure you into ideas or decisions, make everything special and personal - there is nothing so sweet.
